Mandate
Transport containers received through the Port of Durban both by rail / road combination. The rail / road units are railed to City Deep and then transhipped onto either a standard trailer/side loader trailer or a tipper trailer dependent on the product and delivered to their Plant in Isando. The direct road are uplifted in the Port and delivered direct to their Isando Plant.
We also distribute all their imported butter in 40ft units from Port of Durban to cold storage facilities within KZN.
Solution
We make use of a Rail/road combination as well as offering storage/ unpacking facilities as and when required.
Challenges
The use of specialized equipment such as tipper trailers and side loaders. It is critical to track and trace at all time as transit times are extremely important.
Result
National Brands imports are successfully transported via the Port of Durban to their facility in Isando.
